Celebrate five years with one last gesture: Introducing The “Ambergrams”

more than one of everything Posted on September 5, 2012 by birdandbearDecember 11, 2012

So here we are, drawing either too quickly or not quickly enough (depending on which second you ask) towards the beginning of the end. What an incredible ride it’s been. Thinking back on my own experiences over the last few years, just trying to figure out how to express how proud I am of Fringe and its mighty fandom, I’m all goosebumpy again. We’ve done so many amazing things. We searched for Peter Bishop in every corner of the globe. We defied security and raised our White Tulips at Comic Con. We created our own awards when the show wasn’t … Continue reading →

Happy Birthday Emma!!

more than one of everything Posted on August 31, 2012 by birdandbearDecember 11, 2012

Biggest, bestest Birthday wishes to one of our own! In case anyone was unaware (how’s the weather in that cave?), Emma (@dalliel) is an integral part of Fringenuity operations, and single-handedly organized the stunningly successful Fringe Event in Vancouver. She’s a lovely person, a wonderful friend, and a truly dedicated Fringie. Happy Birthday Emma, and thanks so much for everything that you do!! … Continue reading →

One Fringie’s Experience at #TFE2012 and in Vancouver: Part Three

more than one of everything Posted on August 20, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

Here is Part One  Here is Part Two  It was fairly common knowledge that Fringe would be filming at the University of British Columbia on Monday, August 13. Unfortunately, we were under the impression that nothing would occur until afternoon. However, they did film earlier in the day, and as such, we missed Anna Torv, who would leave before the majority of set visitors arrived. Several of us took a cab to UBC, and although the campus is like a city-in-a city, it wasn’t long before we found what we looking for: Without spoiling too much, there was a huge … Continue reading →

One Fringie’s Experience at #TFE2012 and in Vancouver: Part Two

more than one of everything Posted on August 18, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

Some of us spent a bit of time drinking and catching up in the venue’s bar Friday night. We heard Radiohead’s “Creep” playing, and thought of Fringe promo wizard, Ari Margolis. Not because of the song title, haha, but because they are his fave band. If things had gone differently, Ari would have been in Vancouver as well. He was there with us in spirit. So… staying up until the wee hours and having to get up for a major walking tour wasn’t exactly a good idea, but hey, I’m a night owl, and chatting with some of my fave … Continue reading →

One Fringie’s Experience at #TFE2012 and in Vancouver: Part One

more than one of everything Posted on August 18, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

Tuesday night (August 7) I couldn’t sleep, and it really didn’t matter since we had to leave for Yeager airport in Charleston, WV at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Plane left for Atlanta at 6 a.m. and then off to Seattle. The plane trip was boring and routine, but I did feel awed at the view of the Rocky Mountains. I arrived at SeaTac around 10:30 a.m. PST. Annie (@birdandbear) had arrived only minutes before, so we met at her baggage pick-up with hugs, since the last time we had seen each other was after WonderCon in March. Then… we waited. … Continue reading →

Presentation from The Fringe Event

more than one of everything Posted on August 15, 2012 by aimeeinchainsMay 30, 2014

This is an excerpt from The Fringe Event program: One of the best things about Fringe is that the show inspires creativity in the fanbase. We’re a passionate bunch, and use many outlets to express our affection for our special show. Fans create art of all kinds, write fan-fiction, blog, create podcasts, and make videos about Fringe. The Fringe Event is a celebration of this very inspirational and special show; one that will live in the hearts of its fans for a lifetime.  My experiences as a fan, and with Fringenuity, inspired me to write a history of the Fringe … Continue reading →

Snubbed

more than one of everything Posted on July 19, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

As we know, Emmy nominations were announced today. *sigh* No love for Fringe, again… But what do Cortexifans do in situations like this? We get creative! Inspired by today’s “scandalous” events, fan Donna Hazel (@oconnellaboo) wrote a cool piece of fanfiction. We’re sharing it here with you all to cheer you up. We don’t need some awards show to know that Fringe is special, and that the cast are world class in every way. We are all strong together–united in love for a story and characters that will live on beyond their television run. Enjoy! Donna is one of my … Continue reading →

Fringe Fan History Book Update

more than one of everything Posted on July 8, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

With Comic-Con happening next week–and Fringe filming commencing soon–I figured now would be a good time to update status about the book that I am writing this summer and fall. If you missed the initial announcement:  It’s a history of the Fringe fandom, our creative works, and of our efforts to keep Fringe on the air. The working title is Quantum Entanglements: Fringe Fans Acting at a Distance. I’ve been thinking about this project ever since the success of Fringenuity’s #CrossTheLine social media campaigns, and now I have an excellent outline to start. The hope is to have the book ready for … Continue reading →

Comic-Con Fringe Panel is Coming: Let’s Rock Twitter!

more than one of everything Posted on July 5, 2012 by aimeeinchainsDecember 11, 2012

To celebrate Fringe’s final Comic-con panel, we’re asking the Twitterverse to try to trend two (2) hashtags, one before the panel, and one during the panel. What better way to kick off all of the excitement for the fifth season than to spread the word that #TheyAreComing?  AND…. When news broke that executive producer Jeff Pinkner left the show—leaving co-pilot Joel Wyman as Fringe’s singular showrunner—some fans were worried about how the amicable departure would affect the show’s creative direction in the upcoming fifth season. Joel accepted the role of executive producer during Fringe’s second season. The team formed between … Continue reading →
